May the best team win! And Win they did!

Devils defeat the Pittsburgh Penguins in a match up of the best 2 teams in the NHL. Both teams came into tonight's game on a winning streak. Devils at 4 and Penguins at 5. Devils increased their streak while the penguins ended. Tonight's win was a supplement of team play. All the good things we have been seeing this season held true in tonight's match up. The entire team showed up and played hard in an almost playoff like atmosphere.

The first period lived up to the hype, it was intense, hard hitting and some great goaltending. After the first period it was apparent that maybe the night before wasn't just a "bad" game from Atlanta as the devils were in the offensive zone for majority of the second period. New jersey was able to keep the pressure through a few shifts, without leaving the offensive zone. Within the First 12 minutes of the second period the devils scored 3 resulting in Marc-Andre Fleury being pulled.

Scoring opened in the first 5 minutes of the game with a snap shot from Bryce Salvador into the upper right of the goal over Fleury's shoulder. There was no more scoring but the intensity never drooped. Marty made some great saves in the first.

Second period the Devils were passing and moving the puck with ease and seemed like almost no pressure from the pens. Flash back to saturday, atlanta and the pens were running around with a little panic in their step. Bergfors opened the second period getting his 7th powerplay goal of the season and his 12th goal. He is second in the league for rookie goals. Patrick Elias added the 3 tally with a rebound that bounced out in the slot after parise made a great backhanded wrap around to keep the play alive. The final goal of the game was made by Fraser who has stepped up and blended into this team. You would forget that fraser is a rookie. His poise and physical size has allowed him to settle in nicely.

Tonight's shutout illustrates what this team is capable of. The devils still do not have a fully healthy team with a few solid guys, including one of their best defensemen still out. The defense has been involved in the offense all season Greene got 2 more assists tonight, as well as 2 goals by their defense. With our top scorers not putting one in the net its great to see that this team will still win, and win BIG!

Merry Christmas!!! and Congratulations Devils and Martin Brodeur- 104!

A Collapse in the ATL. But a league leading 51st point for New Jersey.

Last night, the score did not reflect the level of play for both teams. The devils could do almost anything last night except score early on. Atlanta kept turning the puck over and stood back on D while the devils pursued the zone. New Jersey was able to push along the boards and keep their forcheck tight. Neidermayer was able to enter the zone a few times along the boards that resulted in a devils goal.

Congrats Pelley! After a long drought the hard work has payed off. Hope to see 1 or 2 more goals over the span of 4 games. Pelley has been working hard and reminds me of a clarkson from a few years back. Clarkson has turned into a strong all around player. I predict Pelley will fill a similar role.

Danis got to play after going 18 games without seeing time. Every year it is the same. Any goaltender coming into new jersey knows that time will be minimal behind Marty. But it's good to see that he is staying focused. I like lemaire's thinking with changing goaltenders early it shows the team that it doesn't matter what everyone might think, he (lemaire) will do what he needs to keep this team focused and on their feet. Danis played well allowing 1 goal over the two periods he played. Danis (now 3-0) kept focused and made the saves he needed to help the team come through with the win.

Lou Lamoriello's best move was bringing back Jacques Lemaire. It has worked out even better than thought. Due to all the injuries you have a lot of young players being coached by one of the best in the game. These young players are getting amazing experience. He turned a young Minnesota team around. With a balance of experienced players and young players this devils team has major potential for this season and a few to come.

Next Game: Monday vs pittsburgh!

Tough Conference Game: Ottawa Senators vs. New Jersey Devils

A few weird bounces in the past few games, but the goals register in the stats the same way a beautiful deke, and slapshot do. Pikkarainen tallied his first NHL goal against Montreal. The devils won that game 2-1.

Against the Sens, Bryce Salvador was able to tally a 65 footer as the puck bounced up over Elliot. The devils finished 4-2. They played strong and aggressive. The devils forcheck kept the pressure on Ottawa. It was also nice to see the devils power play work well. The powerplay was struggling for awhile resulting in very few shots let alone goals. They were between 2-4 goals in their last 20 something. Keep an eye out for tonight and the next few games, their powerplay will produce. For some reason we tend to see this team have streaks.

It showed a lot to come back so strongly against Ottawa who have some guys that can win a game on their own. I still love to see the pressure that our defense has this year. The devils D keep racking up the assists. Its nice to see that this team plays with pressure. In the past we all know and see this team back down after going up a goal.

Lemaire keeps this team focused. The devils will win their division and possible even the entire east. How about shooting for the presidents cup?!?!?

More Records!

Martin Brodeur now has the most games played among any goaltender. Most wins and still counting, plus will break the shutout record soon enough. It will be a long time until any other goaltenders will come close to breaking any of his records. The ones that were close are no longer playing, Roy and Belfour.

The NHL is slowly changing. Goaltenders are not as durable as they used to be. With so many teams playing back to back, Less then half play as many games as Martin Brodeur. Ryan Miller in recent years have had many good seasons, but his age does not lend him the opportunity to catch up to Marty. Many teams in the league are shifting to a two goaltender system. Some reasons are injuries, however many teams have just done it to give net minders more rest. Teams like the islanders, panthers, now the flyers, washington, boston have all been flip flopping goaltenders. Flyers did lose emry to injury, however many teams don't have the strength in the net. Marc Andre Fleury plays a lot, and is young. He already has one stanley cup. He also has a strong team that plays in front of him. Maybe someday he will come close. Until then it will be awhile and its nice to watch marty play. He still has great reflexes and doesn't seem to be getting older.

Sitting on 103.

It's been awhile for a post but I don't need to keep repeating the same headlines over and over. With another 4 home games, there is a chance to see Martin Brodeur break the alltime shutout record at home. Upcoming schedule:

Friday Decemeber 11- Florida
Saturday December 12- Philadelphia
Wednesday December 16- Montreal
Friday December 18- Ottawa

So like I said there is a chance. Playing Florida tonight has the most potential out of the next 4 games. The devils have been finding ways to win and have been playing strong as a team. Buffalo was the most complete game I have seen the devils play all season. I still would like to see the team play a full 60 Minutes. We have strong moments and control most of the games however, even in many of the wins the team has either come out flat or had a rough period. It seems to the be the devils trend however, when a full healthy New Jersey team reunites expect this team to start playing strong from beggining to end.

Over the next few games if they want to see Marty break the record they need to play start to finish with the team they have now. Our defense has been pretty solid with a few hick-ups here and there. The team needs to keep the pressure on the forcheck. The team produces when the defense steps up and stays involved in the offensive serge.

We have a very nice problem. What do we do with our young guys when players come back from injuries. The strength we have seen from our youth in the organization is a great look into the future of this club. Fraser is still playing very well and it is good to have a strong guy back who is not afraid to be physical. Guys like Corrente, Pelley and mchammond all are playing extremely hard and it shows. With so many players trying to make a name for themselves and trying to prove their worth. This competitive stride to be a starter pushes the whole team to do better, because there is a potential that anyone can be replaced. Lemaire doesn't play the favorites or points he plays the people he feels are the strongest.

Good Luck Marty and Go Devils!

Possible Record Tieing Night

In the course of the past 4 Wins it is nice to see the devils powerplay finally working. Also as I've been saying for awhile a huge help in the devils streak is their team play as well as the offensive numbers being put up by their defense. Currently the devils have the best defense in the NHL. It shows. They are doing a lot right. The only thing I would like to see is the team play a full 60 Minutes.

Imagine what this team is capable of. The New Jersey Devils take the ice against the Philadelphia Flyers in Philly for their potential 10th road win to start this season. The devils need to keep the pressure at the blue line. The extra time spent in the offensive zone has let to many apposing team penalties. A huge thing to look for tonight is the first goal. Devils on the road have scored many of the first goals, which has led to their victories.

Good Luck in Philly!

On a Roll

This team finds ways of winning. Its been awhile, just been really busy. But the team has been playing really well together, even with the injuries. With a lot of young guys working hard it drives the veterans to work harder as well. Especially last year with Brodeurs Injury you saw lots of players stepping it up to fill gaps. Once again that is happening and the team's drive to win is there.

The key to their success lies in the involvement with their defense contributing to their offense. The last two games defensemen have scored; Murphy against the Islanders and Greenes game winning goal against the Senators. The defense has done a nice job with pinching at the blueline to keep pucks in the offensive zone. Against Ottawa, Mottau stepped up which made that shift really tired. The extra efforts frustrates teams and leads to penatlies. Against the Senators it wound up being the game changer.

Looking foward to seeing the brothers face each other this Wednesday night.

Road Rage continues

Another road win and what a great one. The Lemaire's trap is back. The game verse the rangers was won in the neutral zone. The devils forced many turnovers in the neutral zone which resulted in goals for the road team. The devils owned the first period and it was clear. With a 2-0 lead the Devils backed off and blew the lead. The devils disappoint sometimes when they have the lead. They tend to back off and go into a defensive mode. Early in the season Lemaire mentioned that he doesn't want that to happen anymore. The devils came out strong in the third and kept there legs moving.

Bergfors finally scores, and it was a long time coming. Look forward to many more from that youngster. He continues to work hard and never stops moving and fighting for the puck. In my eyes he will hopefully fulfil the goals that we lost by losing gionta.

Salvador had another good game and continues to show strength. He is hte most physical defenseman we have and has been playing at the top of his game.

4-2 Devils over the Rangers

Nice job Mottau for standing up to Avery. Not to shabby!

102! nuff said

Carolina is a strong team with a lot of depth. With that there is also some bitterness as this is the first of several meetings this year after last years heartbreak. Devils newsletter said Redemption. It's definitely a start, but last year is over and done with. What I liked was the fact that we never gave up and for the most part we stayed out of the penalty box. Of course with the exception of another bench minor to many men.

This was the best game the devils have played all season, and the most complete. Once again we still need work on the power play but I'll get to that in a minute. The strength and the win over carolina really emphasized teamwork. Every guy worked hard from the 1 line to 4. The continuing efforts of the D is still making its mark. Greene's breakaway is a prime example as well as a few of martins behind the offensive goal passing.

Our powerplay has to stop thinking. Watching the power play it seemed to precise or tried to be for the perfect shot. A lot of our goals this year have not been from these elaborate plays that we try to set up on the power play, so why are we trying so hard. Just take more shots. The puck will find its way to the back of the net. I know they try to keep the puck in the offensive zone by shooting from center point, but what good is a 1:49 seconds of a 5 on 3 if we can't score. Take some extra shots hopefully it will pay off.

Anyway the team played well and it was nice to see a home win! I will do a player review this week before we play the Rangers. By the way it was Marty's 102 Shutout!

Little Bit of Risk... Bad Loss

After having a great road trip to regain some confidence; the first game back at the Rock wasn't what they wanted. Losing 4-2 to Atlanta was unexpected. The first period the devils came out firing. They played strong, atlanta was happy to get out of the period without damage.

A few good things and a few bad. This is a new devils team. Still a lot of young players so the chemistry is still being worked out. But also a new team in the way they attack the opposing team and their formations. Some things to look forward to is the extra effort from the defense to keep the puck in play. Our defense stands up at the blue line and its helped to keep plays alive and has resulted in goals. Our defense got another point with Salvadors Assist. The other is the added work. Guys are still trying to fuse well with one another, but with young blood the work ethic has definitely improved. Guys work hard down low and we have seen the results with some grinding and doorstep goals.

Bad: still our power plays need work. Not to mention going 0 for 5 we also let up a shorthanded goal.

F You Ovechkin!

What a finish to a shaky first period start. After going down 2-0 in the first period to goals by mike green and knuble, the devils were never out!. Jersey's Team made headway in the second period by a Rolston Goal and never stopped. The third period fought back again with a hard and well earned goal by clarkson. The play started with a beautiful pinch by Mottau keeping the puck in the caps end. Zubrus and Berfors kept the puck in deep and was able to work it out from behind the net to find clarkson sitting on the doorstep. The overtime was amazing. Both teams making offensive moves end to end a few times. Then Theodore made an amazing save on Parise. That save pushed the game to a shootout. Parise and Langenbrunner are now 2-2 in the shootout. Marty's Back! He made an amazing save, to secure the come from behind win on Ovechkin in the shootout.

Our Penalty was key. We killed a 5-3 which obviously was huge against a team like the caps that can kill you with defensive goals. Our penalty kill was 5-5.

Doghouse: Devils power play. 0-5.

3-2 Victory

After tonight's game Martin is out of the doghouse. He had a solid game with an assist to Niedermayers goal. He carried the puck well, made solid passes and brought the puck in deep. The defense is getting involved in the offense as the defense have had 3 points in the last 2 games. Zajac had another great game scoring in 3 straight. The devils need him to stay hot and stay involved. He was plus 33 last season. When he is on the ice good things happen. Lets keep it up.

Tonight is was nice to see the shots on goal reversed. Our offense produced solid pressure and had 41 shots on goal.

Player to watch: Clarkson now has 4 points in 4 games. His role on this team is changing. The team brought in peters and loblonde to do the heavy fighting. I'm sure clarckson would love to get in a few with certain players, but his penatly minutes will be greatly reduced this year.

Lets continue this play and bring this winning momentum into washington monday night!

Confidence Builder, A little relief

It was nice to finally get a point and even better to get 2. This season's start was a little rocky, but what else would you expect with 7 new guys in the starting lineup, and one of your top point scorers out. Tonights 4-3 shootout win over the Lightning. The team made much better passes and kept strong on the forecheck. Zajac, with 2 goals on the season has been playing as a top centerman should. Parise finally broke ground tonight with his first goal of this season.

The Lightning are a strong young team tonight's win is not taken lightly. It is a strong confidence booster for the team, as well as Brodeur. With almost 40 saves it is a good start to regaining his youth. The first two games Marty looked a little off. With a few goals in the Flyers and Rangers game that he would definitely like to have back. The team is growing and learning. It might not seem like a long season afterall!

We will be starting a new part of this blog. We are calling the Doghouse. Currently in the Doghouse for the Devils is Paul Martin. He has been a little shaky on D. Especially with the mishaps in front of the net and few extra turnovers. He needs to rebuild his confidence as we need him and oduya to be more involved with the offense.

Devils 4 Lightning 3
Goals from Parise, Pandolfo, Zajac(19.59 3rd Period)

Myth Busted

I'm glad to see we don't listen to facts. We snapped the OT curse. 3-2 victory on Goals by Parise, Gionta and Zajac. Once again I'll say its playoffs anything can happen. This Devils team is deep and can accomplish a lot. A few stupid penalties but, we overcame that as our penalty kill looked like one of the past. I will definitely take Zajac out of the dog house. He stepped up and came through when it counted. The team still needs to remain physical but smart. Stay calm play with poise and definitely do not take any retaliation penalties. Carolina is being chippy and it cost them last game with the penalties they received. Let them keep taking their stupid penalties and play a smart tight game. As we see now Cam Ward is not a God, he has his 15 minutes of fame. Ours is much more steady then that. Let's Go Devils!

People are scoring that need to score. Tonight we need to see a goal from Elias and Rolston. Two people we need to step up, I'll also take any unsung heroes tonight as well.

Series at 1-1

http://blogs.msg.com/gameon/2009/04/18/devils-fighting-the-law-of-averages/

Before you take a look at what I have to say you can take a look at Stan "Ranger Fan" Fischler's little blog. He makes some valid points but lacks many others. And he probably isn't allowed to say a few things that I will gladly speak about. I have faith in this devils team even some in the league doubt. We played part of the season without key guys. MAIN one Martin Brodeur. Guess what we wound up with a franchise record. We also missed Rolston, Greene and a few other players for stints and sill succeeded. If Jamie can't play the team will step up. Maybe Carolina has had our number but that was THEN and this is NOW. You can look at what has happened and use that to determine what will be. However, this is playoffs nothing is always how it seems. Who thought the Rangers would be up 2-0. Or maybe the ducks shutting down the Sharks. Bottom line is there is no predictability.

I strongly disagree with Madden playing sub-par. That line has been one of the strongest and also creating a lot of turnovers. Here are a few facts that Mr. Fischler didn't mention. The refs missed a lot of calls. I know its the playoffs but cheap shots and dirty plays they have to control. I know a team has to overcome "refs" and the players can't make excuses but I can. And this entire season the refs have been horrible, both sides of the puck. They have not been consistent and they have not been fair. Let the teams play and control any unsportsman like conduct. Jamie was body slammed during the game, literally picked up and thrown to the ice, nothing was called. The hit on Gionta was intentional and should have been at least a double minor. Another few things, the devils won a lot more faceoffs even against Brindamour. Thats a huge plus as it obviously helps with possession.

Now if you want to talk about people stepping up I agree with Rolston. He is supposed to have one of the hardest shots in the league take them. Take any shot you can get, you never know. Especially against a goaltender like ward. The more pucks you throw at him the better chance something will bite. We still controlled a lot of the game, we stepped up our physical game as well. Guys like Mottau and Salvador have stepped up there game.

DOG HOUSE: I'm going to start a little thing called the dog house after the games. After last game the dog house player is Tzajac. He had way to many turn overs and looked flat, not to mention the stupid penalty he took. Offensive zone forecheck, hooking? Skate a little faster and you won't need to make up for foot work with a little one to the wrist.

The Devils had a minor set back in game 2 but are not in trouble. I think that for anyone to think that is absolutely ridiculous. The series is tied at 1 and the devils have been playing strong. I still believe this is our year. Lets go Devils!

Hurricane? It didn't even rain!

Welcome back Devils! This is the team that won 51 games. Many highlights, but one of the largest was only allowing 19 shots on goal. Our defense controlled the puck and we brought it out under control.

Besides Mottau's opening goal, I have to say that Jamie's goal was probably the biggest. I don't want to down play any of the other goals, however Langenbrunner's goal was 29 seconds after Ray Whitney's. This goal illustrates our persistence to be in control and not giving up momentum. As soon as Carolina felt they could have a chance, the response from the Devils is exactly what we need for contention.

The team played as that, a team. Everyone contributed with blocked shots, great passing, aggressiveness and almost 40 shots on goal. O and one more thing, Our top 3 scorers all got a tally!

Hold the broom!

Today's final W of regular season prevented being swept for the season series against the Carolina Hurricanes. Another 3-2 Win.(seems like a habit is forming) Goals by Clarkson, Zach and Zubrus were the deciding factors in today's game.

If you saw the game you could make an argument that today's win was possibly by accident. Well not at all, but the first 2 goals were definitely odd. For a team that has been possibly doubting situations and feeling like things can't go their way, those two weird bounces were right in the Devils favor. Today was a strong game and shows a lot especially when we will be seeing Carolina again by mid-week. Today was a confidence booster. If we think about it, we are actually in the best situation we have been in the past few weeks. The team we will be facing we just beat in regulation. Our defense kept the shots down. I'd say if we can be in control and stay out of the penalty box I like our odds.

Onward to the post-season.

Ottawa Post Game

Sorry for the delay. Been busy. Recap
Devils 3 Sens 2: Determined by Shoot Out

With 1 minute left in regulation you could feel the hearts of all the Devils fans drop to the floor. We had the lead solid game and just like that another game we couldn't put away in regulation.

However, the Shannahan shoot out goal gave everyone a sigh of relief. Why haven't we used him sooner. Its to late in the season for this phenomena to be used now. Just keep this in mind for the 3 we send to center ice next year in all our shoot outs.

Marty looked like the confident net minder we all know and love. Making two solid saves in the one on one battle to help elevate the team to the franchise record of 50 Wins.

Devils @ Ottawa Preview

I decided to make this a little more fun. Here is highlights from the last meeting between these to teams courtesy of NHL.com.

As its been said before: With one point tonight we can clinch another division. It would be our 3rd in 4 years. The line to look out for tonight is Jamie, Zach and Travis. Last game at the Sens. Jamie had 2 goals. Lets get Zach a few tonight and maybe a few assists. Currently he has 93 points. With only 2 games left it looks unlikely for a 100 point player. But he still is 5th in the league in points and 3rd in goals. (At this current moment)

Quick Stat: For everyone who still doesn't like Oduya. He is Plus 21, #6 on the roster. He also has one of the fewest penalty minutes on the team. He is a strong skater, makes minor mistakes. I'd say he has a lot of potential.

What do you say?

I think that I can't do any justice by saying something. Toronto 4 Devils 1. We were a team for the first 10 minutes and then we looked like "mites on ice". This is sour moment for all Devils fans. We try to forget the past or learn from it but currently it seems that we like to repeat history!

2 Games left get it together. That was such a poor showing, not to mention embarrassing. Saturdays game will be the true test. Carolina is the hottest team right now and what we do against them will have a strong indication as to what the playoffs bring.

A Duel to the End.

Devils 3 vs Sabres 2:

A few good duels during this game. First off, nice regulation win. This game means a lot under great pressure we held our own and came out on top. Some points to build on: (Daneyko made similar points in his post game) We finally won more face-offs, which means we stayed on offense a lot more. They were taking the body of the other players and being more physical. I know they didn't hear it from me but they were throwing pucks on net. Clarkson's goal was a great example of just turning and shooting. Parise's deflection was another example of throwing pucks on net and seeing what happens.
To sum up a few other points:
• Marty playing to his game (35 saves)
• Controlled Rebounds
• Break-Outs under pressure

Special Feature: I have to comment specifically on Our Captain. Jamie Langenbrunner has stepped it up again in more ways than 1. Other then him making plays, shots on goal and scoring. I have to say that I love that he is getting angry and coming to the rescue. Being the captain he has to set a precedent. Parise was mauled after a small collision with Miller but Langenbrunner came in to defend him. This is one thing we drastically lacked last year's post season. Keep this up and protect each other.

A shot of relief?

Not just one shot but a few. Goals by Shannahan and Pandolfo gave this team some of their fire back. I think its a safe insinuation that we're all relieved. There are some good points about the game even with letting up 4 goals on 21 shots. First off we kept the shots to under 30 again. We haven't seen that in 7 or 8 games. Another good point is the constant pressure we kept up in the second period. We finally were winning face offs and we were able to keep the puck in the offensive zone. The pinching of the defensemen was a key for this to happen. I'll take a breakaway goal by an opposing team every now and then if it means we are being more aggressive.

For a Nice look at the recap of last night check out the story on devils.nhl.com. Shannahan had some good things to say.

But in short I'm glad to see a W on the board. We are still 6 ahead of Philly and right now that is more then enough to build on. I'm glad to see Clemenson recalled but
not at the expense of another injured player. Get better Weekes.

Goodluck in Buffalo! Go Devils!

To Honor or not to Honor?

Here is an interesting question. Will tonights honoring Brodeur help or hurt the team? At first I thought that tonight's honoring of Martin's 552 career wins was not the right time. There was pressure and a need to win when Marty came back. So close to the record it had to be made. But as soon as that win happened the emotional let down seem to plague the team. So my initial thought tonight was not a good idea because it brings back this emotional feeling of success when the focus needs to be on the cup!

However, now I hope that tonight is actually quite different. After 6 straight losses and the team wondering what is going wrong; I pray that tonight is a nice distraction for everyone. Let's Celebrate this amazing accomplishment and then move forward to the Cup. Forget about the previous losses. They really don't matter in regards to the standings. Let's focus on the small things like crisp passes and controlling the puck. Break out of the defensive zone with a desire for something more then a shot on goal. Bring it out under control and good things will happen. TAKE SHOTS! Just throw them on net and see what happens, We don't always need the goals to look pretty. We just need Goals! Goodluck tonight, enjoy the record, but then forget about it. Make the record complete by making this season OUR SEASON for the Cup!

Devils vs Penguins Recap (Game 77)

Devils 1 Penguins 6

First off I want to clarify what Chico said. He meant that tonight he hopes was rock bottom and they can put this game in the past and move forward. Even with this huge loss there were some positives that the devils need to look at. It was nice to see Pandolfo, Madden, Shannahan play as well as they did. Even with the dry spell of points from Parise, Langenbrunner, Zajac are still working hard and making plays. I still feel that we need to carry the puck into the offensive zone under control so that we can maintain offensive pressure.

Defensively, just play! Stop thinking. We were really strong defensively especially when clemenson was in net, we had to be. Even though clemenson was solid he couldn't handle the puck the same way marty can. So to make up for it the defense would clear out any loose pucks. A few times that resulted in solid break outs and offensive scoring chances. We need to forget that Marty is in net, and stop being lazy with clearing the puck and backchecking. Move the puck under control the same way we were in Marty's first 10 games back! The Fans still believe and we all KNOW in our HEARTS that this is our year!

LETS GO DEVILS!

Devils vs Penguins

Half way through the second and it's already a rough game. However in all the turmoil and the large deficit we need to see the good in what the devils are doing this game. Some great offensive chances and at least they snapped a 6 period scoreless streak. They are playing much better then the score reflects. Finally the devils are being more aggressive. They have to against a team like the penguins because it shakes them up. The Pens have so many cry babies that you need to get under there skin!Like Chico said "hopefully they hit rock bottom". I think they have.

Not to mention the refs are still the worst ever. I have never seen so much favoritism towards one hockey team until this season. The refs absolutely love the penguins. Lets first off say the penalties to Madden and Rupp were not penalties at all. O and Crosby blatantly kicked the puck into the net. That was his obvious intention I don't care how you look at it. The replay was so obvious and Toronto did nothing.

More after the game...

Devils vs. Rangers

Tonight's Game was a big disappointment for any fan. We understand that for the standings tonight's game was huge for the Rangers but had very little value for the Devils. Or maybe that's what many think. There has been an emotional let down since the big 552. Tonight's game did have value for all us fans. This is a big time rivalry and it means everything for the fans. Not to mention there is still a strong chance we will be seeing the boys in blue again in the playoffs. It also was a chance to potentially keep the cross river rivals out of the playoffs. We still believe in you Devils we have all the faith. It is just a little disappointing being shut out by a team that has struggled way worse then we have all season. The refs have been bad, we all see it and we all sit up in the crazy section chanting "a$$hole" to the refs, but it's not the refs letting up 40+ shots on goal a game. Our defense is solid why are we backing off the blue line all of a sudden?

Offensively, why do we not place people in front of the net? (like other teams) I remember a few years ago Gionta getting 48 goals, most of those in front of the net. A lot of Parises goals this year have been off of rebounds. I believe we have the talent to bring the puck into the zone under control instead of dump and chase. Let's take a few tricks from other teams playbooks. They seem to work!

Please for the state of New Jersey and all the fan's that have been cheering all season; Regain that passion and fight for it. This is OUR YEAR!

Goodluck in Pittsburgh.

Welcome!

Welcome, I just wanted to say hi and allow people to get a fans point of view of how the devils are playing. This is also to provide an outlet of what fans say in the stands. I have season tickets and I try to never miss a game. I will do my best to keep on posting as we make are way to the playoffs.

I just want to start off by saying this season has had many ups and downs. Especially with what looked to be the end of a season when Marty (Mr. 552) first was injured. But we never doubted we had faith in Weekes, Clemenson and the Team. They have a lot of talent and they over came all the injuries early in the season. I just want to reassure we still have all the faith in this team. Go Devils! We all have high hopes. Is this the year?
